The Republic of Maldives is situated right on the equator southwest of Sri Lanka over the Indian Ocean. The islands stretch for about 820 km from North to South, 130 km at the widest point and each does not exceed a length of 4.5 miles or an altitude of 6 feet above sea level.  Maldives has a humid subtropical climate with average temperature around 29 - 32 degrees Celsius. There are only two seasons in Maldives, dry and wet. However, Maldives is generally warm and humid most time of the year due to its locations on the equator and that sun shines all year round.
